WE WENT TO DISNEY!!!!! So like a lot of you Coivd-19 has thrown us for a loop. Rachel has had to navigate the challenges of trying to teach 4th graders from home via online learning and Jessica as a nurse has been on the frontlines of the pandemic caring for all types of patients and learning to adjust to a new normal. With life slowly opening to a new normal we were thrilled when we heard Disney World had opened. Now we know what some of you may think “how childish”, but we have been going to Disney our whole lives and is just a magical place for us. As we have grown up we have come to find new and exciting ways to enjoy Disney all while still getting the thrill of Big Thunder Mountain. This past month we decided we were going to go and enjoy the new normal of Disney and go to our beloved Food and Wine Festival.
Our first stop was to Animal Kingdom’s Nomad lounge. If you haven’t been here yet add it to the top of your must do list. Located right next to Tiffin’s this low key lounge has been a staple for years to our family. It’s quiet relaxed atmosphere is the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the parks and the drinks are top notch! This year we were stunned when we were able to enjoy some glasses of the infamous Pappy Van Winkle 20 year. If adult libations are not in the cards for you fear not they have plenty non-alcoholic options and delicious small plates to enjoy as well.
Epcot’s food and Wine Festival is always is a blast! We enjoyed champagne in France, Pan de Bono in Brazil and lots if Prosecco and Red wine in Italy!! What was most surprising was how few pictures we took and overall how little we were all on our phones. Being in the moment, enjoying lots of laughs and light hearted conversations were enjoyed most. We could not recommend going enough, Disney has done a great job and keeping everyone spaced out and areas clean. They even have portable had washing stations located around the park in addition to the increased hand sanitizer stations. The Gails are already planning there next Disney trip and we cannot wait to share!
With love,
The Gails
